Shipyard Birthday – Celebration of a decade of traditional craftsmanship at The Old Shipyard
The Geopark Days on Ærø kick off with a fantastic day brimming with experiences on both sea and harbor at The Old Shipyard in Ærøskøbing. We celebrate a 10-year maritime experiential venue anniversary and offer open workshops where visitors can try their hands at traditional crafts. You can also embark on an unforgettable expedition and explore the South Funen Archipelago Geopark beneath the surface. On an exclusive journey aboard the historic three-masted schooner Fylla, maritime cultural heritage flows with us as we explore the archipelago’s past and present. And of course, there will be birthday treats both at the harbor and at sea!

At The Old Shipyard, children and adults can come down and try their hand at blacksmithing with the shipyard’s blacksmith in residence, Aia Li Sidenius. Together with her, you will learn to forge over our beautiful forge, and with the heat from the embers in the open hearth, you can shape a beautiful hook to take home.
